MARGOT CHARLOTTE MARTHA MATHEIS Margot’s true passion in life was her family. It was fitting then that she had her family by her side when she passed away peacefully on March 25th, 2015 at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Born in Berlin on January 19th, 1927 to Walter and Charlotte Kirschner, Margot began her eventful 88-year journey with us. She was joined there by her two beloved brothers and their wives; Günter Kirschner and his wife Biggi, and the late Heinz Kirschner, survived by his wife Uschi. Margot did not remain in Germany and with her late husband Karl came to Canada to start a family and build a life together. She was the mother of Norbert, who together with wife Rose-Marie continue on with Margot’s selfless dedication to family. Margot’s grandchildren Amanda, Ryan, Matthew, and Diana are grateful to have so many great memories of travel and time spent at home with their Oma. Strong-willed is how many would describe Margot and it was in this way she greeted every day with determination and a healthy dose of German stubbornness. Her determination and steadfastness carried over too into her working life where she spent a great many years working for the Royal Bank of Canada. When not working, Margot loved to travel as well as spend time outside tending to her beautiful gardens. Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket on Saturday March 28th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Sunday March 29th at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment at a future date in Toronto. Special thanks to the caring staff at Southlake, Cedarvale Lodge and Alexander Muir. Donations in memory of Margot may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. On-line condolences may be made at www.roadhouseandrose.com
