Gerald Hedican passed away on June 5, 2014 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket Ontario. Gerry left this life filled with the sounds of his favorite music and the voices of his favorite musicians – his wife Colleen O’Grady, daughters Jillian (Chris) and Jennifer. He is survived by his four grandchildren Hazel, Mason, Shayla and Austin, his sisters, Mary, Marcella (Jack Kean) and Lorraine (Joe Mateja), brother Neil and sisters-in-law Phyllis and Kass. Pre-deceased by his parents, Thomas and Annie, his brothers Laurence and John, his brother-in-law Joe Audet, sister-in-law Joan and his nephew Laurence Kean. Born William Gerald Hedican in Timmins, Ontario on March 16, 1931. Gerry had a rich and varied work life – in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Englehart, Toronto and Newmarket – in the fields of theology, teaching, mining management, real estate, marriage ministry, special needs advocacy and as a board member with the Association for Community Living, and one of the Voices of Joy choir. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Living Newmarket/Aurora District or Voices of Joy Community Choir.
